The Brando

Designed to leave the lightest possible footprint, The Brando uses local, renewable, and recycled materials throughout its construction. Advanced water conservation and waste management systems contributed to the resort achieving LEED Platinum certification across its entire campus, reflecting its commitment to sustainable design and operations.

The resort supports ongoing environmental research through its Ecostation, developed with the nonprofit Tetiaroa Society. Visiting scientists conduct marine and ecological studies while educating guests, who can participate in hands-on conservation activities such as releasing fish larvae and sea turtles, directly contributing to restoration efforts.

Through financial support and collaborative initiatives, The Brando helps preserve Tahitian archaeological sites and cultural heritage. The resort also offers immersive cultural programming, including traditional music, dance, weaving, and storytelling, ensuring that local traditions remain vibrant and accessible for future generations.

Renewable energy is central to operations, with solar panels generating most of the resort’s electricity and all hot water. An innovative seawater air conditioning system uses deep-sea water to cool villas naturally, minimizing environmental impact and supporting the resort’s broader carbon neutrality goals.
