A Unique Hotel Blending History, Culture, and Scenic Beauty in Catalonia

With its own medieval monastery and the historic summer residence of modernist painter Ramon Casa located on-site, along with ample sustainability efforts and a social model where 100% of the profits are funneled back into the community, Hotel Món Sant Benet is an intriguing slice of history nestled outside of Barcelona, Spain. Blending the tranquility of a riverside forest with elevated leisure time, cultural immersion, and its own organic gardens, guests can indulge in a variety of dynamic experiences throughout their stay while also making an impact on the Catalan community.

Impact in Action

How sustainability leadership comes to life at Hotel Món Sant Benet:

Honoring Culture, From Medieval to Modern

Hotel Món Sant Benet is owned and operated by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation with an emphasis on cultural heritage and enriching experiences for all. The hotel’s 1,000-year-old legacy is demonstrated through the medieval monastery and summer residence of modernist painter Ramon Casas located on the grounds. Staff also pride themselves on embracing both tradition and locality through dining with a Michelin-starred venue, Restaurant L'Ó, that utilizes a zero-kilometer philosophy with its own Eco-Orchards initiative and locally sourced ingredients that support the Spanish economy.

Reinvesting in the Future

All of the hotel’s profits are reinvested into social and environmental projects that impact a collective 1.6 million people each year. Many different pillars play into this model, with efforts spanning educational tools and scientific vocation counseling for youth, memory reinforcement programs and emotional support for the elderly, and significant advancements through the Alícia Foundation, a food and health organization. Inclusive employment is also in play, providing chances to practice regenerative agriculture and learn professional skills in a supportive environment.

Elevating Environmental Stewardship

Mongolian music and dance students at the Gobi Hanhongor School receive supplies and instruments from the lodge and are invited to perform live for guests. Three Camel Lodge’s scholarship program also provides support for performing arts students studying at the university level to help keep Mongolia’s music and dance heritage thriving into the future.
