18-Hole Course

Just steps from the crystal-clear water of Lake Tahoe, Edgewood Tahoe reimagines an historic western mountain lodge for a modern guest. Its legacy as a family-run cattle ranch dates to the days of the Pony Express; now, Edgewood Tahoe is a steward of the land, using a lake sourced cooling system and locally sourced stone and timber to build a premium, energy-efficient resort. The golf course is world class, and vetted by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program as environmentally sound. Guest experiences reflect the best of the region each season, be it skiing with the help of a Ski Butler or kayak tours in Clearly Tahoe’s see-through kayaks. The resort has removed hundreds of thousands of pounds of sediment from the water each year, protecting the long-term integrity of North America’s largest alpine lake.

Impact in Action

How sustainability leadership comes to life at Edgewood Tahoe Resort:

Keep the Lake Clean

Each year, Edgewood Tahoe removes 500,000 pounds of sediment from Lake Tahoe, helping to keep the lake’s water clear and allow for the passage and spawning of native fish within Edgewood Creek. Additional efforts include a fertilizer management plan to protect water sources surrounding the golf course and a membrane filtration system to treat stormwater runoff.

Conscious Construction

Construction features locally sourced materials like timber and granite to reduce miles and emissions from gathering supplies, and a lake-sourced cooling system that draws water through a 600-foot-deep pipe for power. Edgewood Tahoe has also removed several unsustainable structures and transformed the area by creating a new neighborhood park that’s open to the public.

Food for the Community

Edgewood Tahoe has partnered with FeedTahoe by the Marcella Foundation, donating its quality surplus food to food pantries, schools, shelters, and other community nonprofits that help mitigate food insecurity in the Tahoe area. Hundreds of pounds of food have been donated by the resort.

Eco-Heritage Tour

The property once belonged to the Park family, who came out west as cattle ranchers and sustained a deep commitment to stewarding a legacy of cultural and land preservation over the past century. Guests of Edgewood Tahoe Resort can take an eco-heritage tour that unveils the history of the property, including Friday’s Station, an original stop on the Pony Express that became ranch headquarters.
