Sustainability is at the forefront of everything Villa Dahlia does, including its architecture. Having earned a BREEAM In-Use certification of Excellent from Environmental Social Governance Solutions, the hotel emphasizes everything from lower carbon emissions, fewer operational costs, and better building performance to improved health and well-being while making an effort to reduce its overall environmental impact and setting industry standards for sustainability in hospitality. Excellent is the second highest rating out of the six levels offered for the certification.

Beyond the design of the hotel, Villa Dahlia aims to incorporate sustainability around every corner, whether it’s in the dining venues, the guestrooms, or public spaces. The hotel prioritizes locally sourced ingredients that showcase traditional flavors of Sweden throughout resort menus while also offering support to the region’s farmers and producers. Guests are also provided with environmentally responsible products in guestrooms as well as options to reduce waste and reuse bed linens. Daily operations also incorporate measures to reduce energy and water consumption on a regular basis.

Part of the Gustaf III Kommitté for Swedish excellence, the hotel helps promote the country’s heritage and culture through global awareness, high-end product exportation, networking events, and more. Villa Dahlia is also a long-time partner of both the Childhood Foundation, known for its support of vulnerable children, and Stockholm LGBT, a coalition of hotels, restaurants, and attractions that embrace individuality and travelers from all backgrounds.
